SafetyStop is on the App Store, for iPhone. It is free, and it works with no account and no signal.
The logbook is the star
Log a dive in seconds. Tap Use My Location and SafetyStop names the water you are actually in and sets salt or fresh for you — the two things every other app makes you type twice. Depth, time, gas, buddy, conditions, notes. Imperial or metric, switchable any time.
Save your usual kit as an equipment profile and fill a dive from it with one tap, instead of retyping your tank and weights every time.
Nitrox, without the guesswork
Enter your mix and get MOD, EAD and PPO₂ at working and contingency depths, each marked safe, warning or danger against the limit you set. An acronym key explains every term, because "EAD" should not require a textbook.
Gas planning that tells you the truth
How much gas the dive needs, when to turn round, and a rock bottom reserve — enough for you and a buddy to share air from the deepest point, ascend, and complete a safety stop. It is usually more than the "surface with 500 psi" habit, which is exactly why it is worth computing.
Your dives are yours
Everything works offline with no account and no subscription. Cloud Sync is optional and costs $4.99 a year: it keeps your log on more than one device, backs it up off the phone, and is what signs you in on the web. If it lapses, your log stays readable for 90 days and then stops taking new writes until you renew — your dives are never deleted because a subscription ended. Either way you can export your whole log to a file and import it back, so it is never locked in.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads. See the privacy policy — it is short, and it says what the code does.
What this is not
SafetyStop shows no-decompression limits from published recreational tables and plans your gas. It has no decompression model of its own and does not replace your dive computer, which tracks your actual profile rather than a planned one. Table limits are for a first dive only — a repetitive dive has a shorter limit. Always dive within your certification and follow your computer.
